Got your first paycheck and can't wait to buy your first lot of shares?

Hold on!

Before you start investing in the stock market, you have to get certain basics in place.

Follow this checklist to ensure you are on track.

Should you buy shares now?
1. Get a broker

People like you and me cannot just go to a stock exchange and buy and sell shares.

Only the members of the stock exchange can. These members are called brokers and they buy and sell shares on our behalf.

So, if you want to start investing in shares, you can do it only through a broker.

Every stockbroker has to be registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India [ Images ], which is the stock market regulator.

You can either choose a broker (who is directly registered with SEBI) or a sub-broker (people licensed by brokers to work under them).

The Bombay Stock Exchange directory or the National Stock Exchange Web site will give you a list of brokers affiliated to them. Most of them entertain retail clients.

If you want an online broker, you can start by looking at the Web sites of some well-known online players: Sharekhan, Kotak Securities, ICICI Direct, 5paise and India Bulls.

2. Get a demat account

Gone are the days when shares were held as physical certificates.

Today, they are held in an electronic form in demat accounts.

Demat refers to a dematerialised account.

Let's say your portfolio of shares looks like this: 40 shares of Infosys [ Get Quote ], 25 of Wipro [ Get Quote ], 45 of HLL [ Get Quote ] and 100 of ACC.

They will show in your demat account. You don't have to possess any physical certificates showing you own these shares. They are all held electronically in your account.

Periodically, you will get a demat statement telling you what shares you have in your demat account.

How to get a demat account

To get a demat account, you will have to approach a Depository Participant.

A depository is a place where an investor's stocks are held in electronic form.

There are only two depositories in India -- the National Securities Depository Ltd and the Central Depository Services Ltd.

The depository has agents who are called Depository Participants. In India, there are over a hundred DPs.

Think of it like a bank. The head office, where all the technology rests and the details of all the accounts are held, is like the depository. The DPs are like the branches of banks that cater to individuals.

A broker, however, is not similar to a DP. A broker is a member of the stock exchange and he buys and sells shares for his clients and for himself. A DP, on the other hand, gives you an account where you can hold those shares.

To get a list of the registered DPs, visit the NSDL and CDSL Web sites.

3. Get a PAN

The taxman demands that you get yourself a Permanent Account Number.

This is a unique 10-digit alphanumeric number (AABPS1205E, for example) that identifies and tracks an individual in the taxman's database.

Almost every money transaction demands the use of a PAN. These include:

~ When you get a job

~ When you file an income tax return

~ When you open a bank account

~ When you deposit cash of Rs 50,000 or more in a bank

~ When you open a bank fixed deposit of Rs 50,000 or more

~ When you open a post office deposit of Rs 50,000 or more

~ When you buy/ sell shares and mutual funds

~ When you buy/ sell property

~ When you buy a vehicle

~ When you take a loan: home/ personal/ other

~ When you install a telephone (or buy a cell phone)

~ When you pay in cash to hotels and restaurants against bills for an amount exceeding Rs 25,000 at a time

~ You also need to mention it in every transaction you have with the tax officials.

If you are going through a tax consultant, you need not worry. He will supply you with Form 49A (the application form for the PAN number) and give you a list of the documents he needs.

However, if you believe in doing things on your own, the process is really not that tedious.

You could visit the official Web sites of the Income Tax department or UTI Investor Services Ltd or National Securities Depository Limited.

Download Form 49A from any of these sites and follow the instructions.

You should get your PAN in the form of a laminated card within a month.

4. Check if you need a UIN

This depends on how much you plan to invest.

The Unique Identification Number is the identification an investor needs to buy and sell shares or mutual fund units.

It is part of the Security and Exchange Board of India's attempt to create a database of all Market Participants and Investors, called MAPIN.

Who needs a UIN?

An investor who is involved in a single transaction of Rs 1,00,000 or more will have to quote his/ her UIN.

If you plan to be a prominent stock market player or a mutual fund investor and expect to deal with such huge amounts in the near future, you should get a UIN.

SEBI has appointed the National Securities Depositories Ltd that, in turn, has appointed Points Of Service agents. The NSDL Web site has a list of the POS agents.

Visit the office of a POS agent. Make sure you take an appointment before you go. As part of the application process, your fingerprints will be scanned and a photograph taken.

All you have to do is fill and submit an application form (there are separate forms for corporates and individuals). You can also download the form for an individual at the NSDL Web site.

Incidentally, the UIN is totally different from a PAN. The Permanent Account Number is an identification number for filing your income tax returns.

Here we’ll guide you through all the necessary steps to get Mac OS X Snow Leopard installed on your Dell Mini 10v netbook, including updating it safely to 10.6.2.

Requirements:

Dell Mini 10v with at least 8GB of hard disk space
Mac OS X Snow Leopard retail disc
Intel-based Mac with DVD-ROM drive and USB port
8GB or larger external USB drive (hard disk or flash drive)
NetbookBootMaker
NetbookInstaller

On your Mac with DVD-ROM drive and USB port:

Insert the Mac OS X Snow Leopard retail disc into the Mac’s DVD drive, and connect the external USB drive to the Mac too.
If your Mac is running Mac OS X 10.6 or later then launch the ‘Disk Utility’ application located in your ‘Utilities’ folder, and skip to step 7. Else, proceed to the next step.
Double-click on ‘Mac OS X Install DVD’ and then double click the ‘Install Mac OS X’ icon.

Click the ‘Utilities’ button.

Click the ‘Restart’ button. The Mac will now boot from the Mac OS X Snow Leopard retail disc.

Explicit Phrase:
Lets say you are looking for content about internet marketing. Instead of just typing internet marketing into the Google search box, you will likely be better off searching explicitly for the phrase. To do this, simply enclose the search phrase within double quotes.
Example: "internet marketing"
Exclude Words:
Lets say you want to search for content about internet marketing, but you want to exclude any results that contain the term advertising. To do this, simply use the "-" sign in front of the word you want to exclude.
Example Search: internet marketing -advertising
Site Specific Search:
Often, you want to search a specific website for content that matches a certain phrase. Even if the site doesn’t support a built-in search feature, you can use Google to search the site for your term. Simply use the "site:somesite.com" modifier.

Similar Words and Synonyms:
Let’s say you are want to include a word in your search, but want to include results that contain similar words or synonyms. To do this, use the "~" in front of the word.

When working with data source controls, you should centralize the location of your connection strings placing them within the application's Web.config file. The benefits of this are twofold: your data source controls might reference the connection string's name from the configuration file rather than include the connection string as a control property; and site administration is easier because management of connection strings is centralized, which eliminates the need to revisit individual pages if your connection string information changes.

In this topic you'll learn how to place your connection strings within the Web.config file using Visual Studio and a data source control, and how to use the command-line utility, Aspnet_regiis.exe, to encrypt those connection strings for an added layer of security.

How to add a connection string to Web.config with a data source control

Open an .aspx page in Design View in Visual Studio.

From the Toolbox, from the Data folder, drag a data source control, such as a SqlDataSource control, onto the design surface.

Right-click the control, and click Show Smart Tag.

In the smart tag panel, click Configure Data Source.

In the Choose a Data Connection panel, click New Connection.

Select an appropriate data source from the list on the Choose Data Source dialog box, and then click OK.

Indicate the correct server name, user name, and password on the Add Connection dialog box, and then click OK.

You are returned to the Configure Data Source dialog box with a summary of your connection details.

Click Next, and then click Yes to save your connection string in the Web.config file.

The connection string is now stored in the Web.config file, and you can configure the query details for your control.

The WinForm interfaces support adapting to changes in the parent form's font and background color. They are designed so that the grid number text size matches that of the other standard controls such as TextBox, Radio Button, and Labels. Note that the default form text size of 8 points is fairly small. You may want to increase it to 9 or 10 points depending on your needs. Close the dialog and the 5 new ProEssentials components will be at the bottom of the toolbox.

VS2003 and Earlier Instructions

Double check that the [Windows Forms] tab on the tool box is active (Pointer, Label, should be visible)
Right click anywhere in the toolbox and select [Add/Remove Items... or Customize Toolbox...],
Left click the [.NET Framework Components] tab,
Left click the [Browse...] button and find the file "Gigasoft.ProEssentials.dll" found in the DotNet subdirectory where you installed ProEssentials. By default, this should be located at "C:\ProEssentials6\DotNet\",
Select the file "Gigasoft.ProEssentials.dll" and close the [Open File] dialog,
The [Customize Toolbox] dialog should now show 5 highlighted controls: Pe3do, Pego, Pepco, Pepso, and Pesgo.
Close the [Customize Toolbox] dialog and the 5 new ProEssentials components will be at the bottom of the toolbox.

4) Double click the [Pego] tool within the toolbox. This places an instance of the Pego component within "Form1.vb". Left click bottom-right corner of control and drag down-right to fill up client area of Form1. The adjacent image shows what you see.

This represents the default state of a ProEssentials Graph. The default state has one subset with four data points. In the course of constructing your own graphs, you'll set the properties PeData.Subsets andPeData.Points which define the quantity of data your graph will hold. You'll then pass data via the PeData.Y(subset, point) two dimensional property array. The following section shows example code of passing data.

ProEssentials uses the terms Subsets and Points but you can think of these as Rows and Columns. Passing data is as simple as filling each Subset with Points worth of data.

5) We recommend setting the parent Form's versions as these properties as ProEssentials will use the parent form's settings to help facilitate a uniform look among sibling controls.

If new to Visual Basic, the (Name) property is probably the most fundamental property as its name is reflected in all code. For example, Pego1.PeData.Subsets = 1 is a line of code, and it shows how the (Name) property (Pego1) starts the line.

6) Double click Form1's Title/Caption Bar to open the code view for "Form1.vb" with default Form1_Load event initialized.

The cursor will be within the Form1_Load code section, enter the following code into this section.

7) The code above enabled the DataHotSpot event, so we should place some appropriate code in the DataHotSpot event.

Within the two drop-down combo boxes at top of code view window, select [Pego1] within the left combo box. Select [PeDataHotSpot] within the right combo box. The cursor should be within the Pego1_PeDataHotSpot event. See the red annotations in the bitmap below.

8) Under the Project menu, select "Project Properties". From the Compile tab, select the "Advanced Compile Options..." button. Change the "Target CPU" setting to x86. This is necessary as ProEssentials contains native 32 bit portions. This setting will allow the resulting exe to run on both 32 and 64 bit systems.

9) Save and run the project. Your project will show an image as follows. Move the mouse over a bar and click to trigger the DataHotSpot event.

A lot of people here in india and in other countries has become so addictive to orkut that they have become so curious to know every minute whether did they receive any new scrap.

So What is the Problem ?

The main problem that now a days orkut has been banned in many of the corporate offices and other institutions due to which people are not able to access orkut.

So people use various proxies like..

2. http://www.kproxy.com/ Kproxy

But normally these “servers are overloaded with chunks of traffic please try after sometime“.

“So today i am going to tell how we can access orkut with proxy but without using any of the above proxy servers”

In order to access blocked or restricted orkut without using any proxy servers you need a proxy or anonymous program like JAP(JAP — ANONYMITY & PRIVACY).

How JAP Works ?
It acts as a local proxy between the browser and the insecure Internet. All web pages requested by the browser go directly to JAP, and are multiply encrypted and request goes through a mix cascade being formed by the user itself.

Note: In short it makes your system to act as a proxy server for you.
How To Do Use JAP to Access Orkut:

1. Firstly download JAP from here and install it.

2. Disable the windows firewall Control Panel>>Windows Firewall (Select the OFF option to disable the firewall ) or disable any other firewall if installed on your system.

Note: If you don’t have any firewall ignore the step 2.

3. Start JAP and Complete Start Up wizard by first selecting the language.

3.1 Now click next and select the green option among the radio buttons in the next two upcoming screens.

3.2 Now just click next and next to simply end the wizard.

4. Configuring your browsers

4.1 For Internet Explorer

a) In Menu Bar of IE, Go To Tools>Internet Options and click the Connections Tab.

b) Click Lan Settings and Select the Check box which says “Use a Proxy server for your Lan” and Enter the follwing info in the boxes.

c) Address: 127.0.0.1 , Port: 4001

d) Click ok.
4.2 For Firefox

a)Go to the menu bar “Tools”, choose the submenu “Options”. The settings window will open. Choose the “Advanced” category and then the tab “Network”

b) To change the proxy server, click on the “Settings…” button. In the new window that opens, choose “Manual proxy configuration”. Activate “Use this proxy server for all protocols” and enter “127.0.0.1″ as the server and “4001″ as the port (without the quotation marks).

c) Click ok.

5. On the JAP Interface Click on the Services Drop Box.(As shown in the image below).

Note: This software allows to you to use Mix Cascades both ways by paying money and for free also so Don’t select cascades with cost as they will ask for money.

Good moorning! I searched the VB.NET tutorials section and I didn't manage to find a tutorial showing the process of creating graphics in VB.NET and that's why I decided to write one. Let's begin

First, we have to create a new WindowsApplication

Now, we can see the form of the new project. Look at your Menus and Toobars section at the toolbar for this one: "Microsoft Chart Control, version 6.0 (OLEBG).

If you have it, skip the next two steps.

For those, who do not have it, add it how it is showed on the pictures.

On the the "Choose Toolbox items" dialog, click the second tab("Com components"), find the one showed on the picture and click ok.

Now, you must have it there. Grap one and stretch it on the form until you get the target size.

It's finally here!! The much anticipated update for the PlayStation Portable is now out. PSP developer, Dark_AleX has just released their newest custom firmware 5.00 M33. With this update it brings all of Sony's newest additions and much more.

Instructions: Copy UPDATE folder /PSP/GAME/ and run.
Put the 5.00 sony update as 500.PBP in same folder, or let the program download it for you using a wifi connection.

Changes:
- 4.01 to 5.00

- Bug fix: when changing speed in xmb, and the psp turned the brightness to 0 automatically the speed was reseted to 222 again.

Note to pspstates plugin users: this plugin won't work in this firmware due to it being made

Process in upgrading the firmware of PSP

Example:

If you want to upgrade your PSP with custom firmware not lower than 3.52 m33-3 you need to download the 3.90 official firmware update first .You need to rename the file to 390.PBP and copy it to update folder of 3.90 M33.Then copy the update folder to PSP/GAME via USB mode on your memory stick. After copying the update folder exit usb mode then select the update on game category on your psp and it will begin to install.Just wait for few seconds and your psp will automatically reboot. If you want to check if the firmware of your psp has been updated go to settings > system settings > system information. (Same process for 3.80 m33)

What ChickHEN does NOT do?
-Run ISO, CSO or any other form of UMD backup.

-Touch The Flash of your beloved PSP
-Magically allow the use of Custom Firmware

How do I get the HEN to run on my PSP?

1. First off use the supplied TIFF image and place it in the PSP>PHOTO Directory.
2. Copy h.bin over to the MS ROOT and safely remove device.
2. Scroll over to the PHOTO icon on the XMB and click the ChickHEN folder and wait.
(This will not work the first time, you may have to just use a method of loading that works
for you but this is what we have found most efficient)
3. If all goes well the screen should blank out and flash green showing that the HEN is loaded and all is well.
4. Wait for your PSP to reboot and check your PSP's system software. It should now display: "5.03 ChickHEN".
5. Scroll on over to GAME and enjoy some Homebrew!

[Can it break my PSP?]
ChickHEN works differently to all previous HEN's. Instead of flashing to flash0, it resides entirely in RAM
to prevent any damage to the system. Sure enough, you can run applications in HEN to flash stuff but I strongly
recommend against it. ChickHEN comes with no warranty, no guarantee and you run this software under your own
responsibility. Flashing onto your PSP WILL BRICK IT!!

As stated, HEN comes with no warrenty, and this software should not be used in conjunction with
homebrew which can countervent any copyright laws.

Custom Firmware Enabler 1.0 to 5.03 ChickHEN

What is?
A program that activates the functions of the M33 custom firmware using ChickHen.

What do I need?
- A PSP Slim (irregardless of the motherboard)
- Firmware version 5.03.
- ChickHEN R2 (minimum)

Compatibility:
- The functions are the same with the 5.00 M33, all work except:
- Recovery (An alternative may be created with homebrew to configure the CFW)
- Pops (PSX Games)

Installation:

- Copy the folder to your psp CFWEnabler in X:/PSP/GAME/

File Structure: X:/PSP/GAME/CFWEnabler/EBOOT.PBP

How to use:
Run ChickHen from Photo menu. Then run the homebrew called "CFW Loader for ChickHEN".
The first time the CFW module need to be installed in the internal flash memory with the
Circle option (codes does not overwrite the file, it just add new ones, it's a safe process.)
Later press X to start the CFW.
And you are in CFW!

FAQ:

- Can load ISO's? - Yes, yes you can.
- Does this work work for all PSP Slim even the those PSP Slim with TA-088v3 Motherboard? - Yes, it doesn't matter.
- Does my PSP3000? - No, not working, at least.
- Can you brick my PSP? - It is true that he writes some files in internal memory, but it does not overwrite anything, so its not a problem.

What PSP can benefit?

Enter USB Connection
Extract files and put at your MS root (or the folder GameZDecryptZ direct to \PSP\GAME

Install UMDGen 4.00 at your PC
Open your UNTOUCHED ISO with UMDGen 4.00 and go to File -> File List -> Export... and save it as a .txt file (thisgame.txt for example)
Close UMDGen
Reopen UMDGen and reaccess the ISO File
Retrieve the file EBOOT.BIN located in the folder PSP_GAME / SYSDIR of your ISO (clicking with right mouse button at it and choosing Extract Selected).
Place this file in the root of your Memory Stick.
Going into the game menu on your PSP and launch GAME DECRYPT YOSHIHIRO.
Press O to patch and decrypt your file (wait few seconds, then returns to XMB homebrew).

At the root of your Memory Stick is a new folder "decryptor".Inside the file is located EBOOT.BIN patched.
With UMDGen, replace the original file EBOOT.BIN the new resulting file.

Rebuild your ISO clicking at Save button and upload it to the folder ms0: / ISO of your Memory Stick.

Despertar del Cementerio This is a little tutorial for the ones that want to install your own kit of Pandora + Despertar del Cementerio "addon". As a little explanation, this is an universal Downgrader and Unbricker for your PSP. (Pandora for fat, Despertar del Cementerio for fat and slim)

Requirements (I - Hardware)
- 1. A PSP (slim or fat) homebrew capable (1.50 original kernel, or custom firmware).
- 2. A PSP (slim or fat) bricked, with some original fw, etc.. the one to use this kit with.
- 3. A spare battery. Following batteries work for this:
* Original fat one. Li-ion 1800mAh
* Datel PSP Battery 3600mAh 2X
* Datel PSP Battery 1800 MaxPower
* Sony PSP-280 2200mAh
* Atomic Battery Pack 3.6v 1800mAh
Between others. Although, there are others that doesn't work, like chinese ones.
- 4. A Memory Stick (pro duo) to spare. (Less than 4gb, it will work with 256mb)

Requirements (II - Software)
- 1. Pandora original pack.
- 2. 1.50 updater Eboot.

How-to (I - Pandora)
- 1. Format your Memory Stick using the PSP option.
- 2. Connect your PSP (in which we will make the kit) with your MS plugged in and your Battery to spare also plugged in, into your PC under USB.
- 3. Unzip pandora.zip, and copy mspformat/mspformat.exe into your PC (ex. C:/)
- 4. Run mspformat.exe under CMD and format logically your MS with it (mspformat.exe ) (ex. C:/mspformat.exe D:)
- 5. Remove the USB connection and the MS, and enable both again.
- 6. Make the ms0:/PSP/GAME/ and ms0:/PSP/GAME150 directories.
- 7. Copy "battery" and "installer" folders from pandora.zip into GAME (for custom firmwares using 1.00 kernel) or GAME150 (for custom firmwares using 1.50 kernel, or directly 1.50 firmware)
- 8. Rename 150.PBP to UPDATE.PBP and copy it into your MS root (ms0:/)
- 9. Disable USB connection.

- 11. Enable USB connection again, and copy "msipl.bin" from your MS root to your PC (ex. C:/)

- 13. Disable USB connection.
- 14. Run "Pandora's Battery Creator" on your PSP under Game-Memory Stick and press /\ to make an EEPROM backup.
- 15. Run again "Pandora's Battery Creator" and press X and follow instructions.
- 16. Pandora done.

How-to (Ib - Pandora - Using it)
- 1. Onto the PSP bricked or with a higher official fw, insert our MS from the kit onto it.
- 2. Remove power cord.
- 3. Insert our modified Battery onto it.
- 4. Start the PSP system and you'll see a menu like this:

- 1. Under our PSP homebrew-capable, use our modified MS and copy despertar_cementerio folder from despertar_cementerio4.rar onto PSP/GAME/
- 2. Copy 150.PBP, 340.PBP and 380.PBP onto your MS root (ms0:/)
- 3. If you have any ptf theme enabled, disable it.
- 4. Set kernel from recovery to 3.80 or anyone >= 2.71 and run the app under Game-Memory Stick.
- 5. Once done this, you'll have an "msipl.bin" on your MS root. Use msinst as the same way as lately to install it on the MS.
- 6. Despertar done.

How-to (IIb - Despertar del Cementerio - Using it)
- 1. Onto the PSP bricked or with a higher official fw, insert our MS from the kit onto it.
- 2. Remove power cord.
- 3. Insert our modified Battery onto it.
- 4. Start the PSP system and you'll see a menu like this:

Press O to install original 3.80.
Press [] to dump nand to ms0:/nand-dump.bin
Press L+R+START to recover nand from ms0:/nand-dump.bin
- 5. First of all, make a backup nand ([]), and then press X to install 3.80M33. (It will use directly the UPDATE.PBP we used lately, from 1.50)

How-to (III - Back to normal)
- To bring Battery back to normal -> With eeprom.bin from our battery EEPROM backup onto ms0:/eeprom.bin, run "Pandora's Battery Creator" and press L+R to flash the backup.
- To bring MS back to normal -> Format it under your PSP directly.

Method of Playing Gameboy ROM on your PSP (tested for M33 custom firmwares)

If you want to play gameboy advance rom on your psp you need to download this gba emulator for your psp.
Just extract the rar file,then copy the GPSP folder to PSP/GAME on your memory stick of your PSP. Download gba rom files and copy that on ROM folder on PSP/GAME/GPSP/GBA on your memory stick.

DaedalusX64 Beta 2 Update: the N64 Emulator (Full Version)

A collaborative effort, DaedalusX64 is a continuation of the popular PSP N64 emulator Daedalus,
originally written by scene veteran StrmnNrmn. Beta 2 features numerous improvements in the
Media Engine department and built-in speed hack detection.

The DaedalusX64 team is back with a quick update for the latest beta version of their DeadalusX64 emulator for the PSP.
As Kreationz states, this update is just a quick fix, but it's still recommended that you update your version of Beta 2 to this one.

If you don't have CWCheat Installed in your PSP
1.Download these files from

2. Extract and copy the Seplugins folder in the root of your memory stick.
[Replace the older one]
3. Disconnect your PSP and Take the battery out and insert it back again.
4. Start your PSP pressing 'R' and it should take you to the recovery menu.
5. Go to 'Plugins' and Enable/Activate all the plugins by going on them and pressing 'X' only 1 time (Pressing again will agan disable them).
6. Start the 'Loco Roco Midnight Carnival' Game from your PSP.
7. Select the language and go to 'New Game'
8. (Tricky Part) One you reach this screen, press select for 3-5 seconds and and black menu should come up. Go to 'select cheats' and press 'X' on the level you want to play [Select only one level, else it will hang you PSP]
9. Press 'O' ONLY ONE TIME and Press 'X' one 'Enable Cheat' option in the black Menu.
10. Press 'O' and Press 'X' and woot! you'll be in that level.
